Betty Sue is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, prevention educator, and lover of the outdoors. She specializes in working with adolescents and young adults and enjoys helping them to live their best lives in a world that sometimes makes it hard to do. When she is not working, she enjoys mountain biking, skiing, playing hockey, rafting, Ultimate Frisbee as well as reading, cooking, sipping coffee and listening to the snow crunch under her boots.
I believe relationships are the key to any therapeutic work, especially work with adolescents. Empathy and positive regard are extremely important when working with this often misunderstood population. I have worked with adolescents and young adults to address a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, substance use, trauma, identity, and grief. My training in evidence based practices allows me to integrate Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Practices, and Positive Youth Development into treatment. My therapy style is strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed, meaning my work can be individualized to meet the unique needs of a variety of people. Providing services online allows me to reach clients who would prefer the comfort and privacy of their home, clients who live in Mental Health Provider Shortage Areas, clients who can't meet from 9-5 and clients who are all-of -the-above. I am so happy that you found me and I look forward to working together. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule your appointment.
