Betty Sue Gurk, LCSW
I believe relationships are the key to any therapeutic work, especially work with adolescents. Empathy and positive regard are extremely important when working with this often-misunderstood population. I have worked with adolescents and young adults to address a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, substance use, trauma, identity, and grief. My training in evidence-based practices allows me to integrate Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Practices, and Positive Youth Development into treatment. My therapy style is strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed, meaning my work can be individualized to meet the unique needs of a variety of people. I am so happy that you found me, and I look forward to working together. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule your appointment.
